You can’t kick off the holiday season without a trip to see Santa Claus! He’s all around Atlanta this year and will be stopping at the Zoo, the Aquarium, Marietta Square and even the Urban Nest Atlanta office in EAV! We’ve highlighted the most popular places you can find Santa in Atlanta this year….
1. Cookies with Santa (Zoo Atlanta)
Santa loves the Zoo and it will be his first stop in Atlanta on December 5 and 6! Bring the little ones for a visit with Santa and get a professional photo. Warm-up with hot chocolate and cookies, and kick off the holiday season with plenty of fun! Get the full scoop.
2. East Atlanta Santa Fest
Also on December 5 and 6, Santa will be popping by the Nest Atlanta office in the East Atlanta Village. Appointments to get your photo often book up quickly, but you can learn more info on Facebook.
3. Naughty v. Nice Holiday Spectacular (PCM)
Get your picture taken with the ultimate naughty and nice duo, Santa Claus and The Grinch! Kids can write letters for delivery to the South Pole and the North Pole and the adults can visit all the great shops at Ponce City Market. Photos reservations can be made online at poncecitymarket.com/events/
4. LEGOLAND Breakfast with Santa
One of our favorite events occurs the first two weekends in December. The event includes breakfast with Santa and a tour of the decorated estate of Callanwolde (in the Virginia Highlands / Druid Hills area), as well as picture-perfect moments with Santa when children share their secret wish lists. All children receive a special gift bag from Santa to take home. A donation for Toys for Tots is greatly appreciated.
5. Santa’s Cottage at Atlantic Station
While you’re doing some holiday shopping, swing by and meet the jolly man himself, take a picture, and make sure to let him know what you’re hoping to see under your tree this year!
6. Santa at Phipps Plaza
Kids of all ages will love the life-like Santa that is an Atlanta tradition. Phipps Plaza offers warm lighting and professional-quality photos, unlike many other Santa photo experiences. This Santa Claus is a busy man, so be sure to book your appointment asap!
7. The Real Black Santa

8. Breakfast with Santa at the Aquarium
On December 12th, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast with Santa Claus alongside beluga whales at the Georgia Aquarium. Catered by Wolfgang Puck Catering. Learn more + get your tickets!.
9. A Day with Santa at Southeastern Railway Museum
If you haven’t already been to the SRM’s 35 acres of locomotive nirvana, there’s no better time than when Santa will arrive to eat breakfast or lunch with the kiddos. Santa will also make an appearance for the Polar Express Experience, which includes a short ride with Santa followed by the movie on board a stationary boxcar. Learn more about this unique event.
10. Botanical St. Nick (Botanical Gardens)
Meet Botanical Saint Nick, clad in his dark green robe and botanical head wreath. Bring a camera to take your own photos with Saint Nick and while you’re waiting you can join in on some fun holiday-themed activities. The cost is free with garden admission.
11. Santa at Historic Rhodes Hall
Every weekend through December 20th, the Georgia Trust will be transforming “The Castle on Peachtree Street” into a winter wonderland featuring holiday entertainment, delicious refreshments from area caterers, music, art activities and personal appointments with Santa at Rhodes Hall.
12. Tea with Santa at the St Regis
Enjoy a cup of tea with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even the hotel elf, along with some scrumptious holiday treats like smoked cheddar quiche, gingerbread cheesecake and more. Reservations for this very special event do book up quickly!
13. Santa on the (Decatur) Square
Old Saint Nick rides into Decatur on a fire truck this year! Kids can share their Chrismas lists, enjoy cookies and hot cocoa and have your digital photo taken! This City of Decatur event is free, but reservations are requested at Freshtix.com.
14. Santa on the Marietta Square
Join Santa Claus for the kick-off to the holiday season in Marietta in Glover Park on the Marietta Square. Festivities include performances by local school choruses. Santa will make his grand entrance and light the giant Christmas tree. Santa will also be stopping by every mall in Atlanta this year, from Lenox Mall to Cumberland Mall. This jolly old soul would also like to meet your pets! You can bring your furry friend to see Santa at Cumberland on Monday evenings
