Homestead Exemptions

Atlanta moving and relocation guide

If you purchase a Georgia home (as your primary residence), you will qualify for a reduction in property taxes (aka Homestead Exemption) the following calendar year. You can now apply for homestead exemption year round upon closing. If you tend to procrastinate, the deadline for filing is in March or April for the following year -- the date varies by county, so please select your county below to access additional information and forms to file for your Homestead Exemption.
