Virginia Highland Summerfest
One of Intown Atlanta’s very best festivals is almost here! Virginia Highland Summerfest is celebrating its 34th year of art, music, food, and fun for the whole family. along the tree-lined streets of Virginia Avenue (between North Highland and Park Drive).

WHEN
June 3 and 4, 2017
10 am to 11 pm on Saturday (artist’s market closes at 6:30 pm)

WHERE
VAHI Summerfest 2017 runs along the tree-lined streets of Virginia Avenue (between North Highland Avenue and Park Drive) and includes John Howell Park.
5K ROAD RACE & TOT TROT
One of Atlanta’s favorite road races, the Summerfest 5K takes you through the winding, tree-lined streets of Virginia Highland. The 5K Race starts at 8 AM on Saturday and is now an official AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier. All participants also receive a 2017 Summerfest t-shirt. At 9:15 AM, the Tot Trot begins on the lawn on John Howell Park and kids under 7 are able to run, walk (or crawl) to the finish line! Each child participating in the Tot Trot receives a t-shirt and ribbon.
The Virginia Highland 5K Race tends to sell out, so register asap at active.com. For the Tot Trot, you can register at the park on the day of the race.
ARTIST MARKET
Summerfest always has the best artists market! You’ll find everything from painting to textiles, photography, wood, jewelry and mixed media. It is a juried event, featuring the original artwork of 250+ artists from all over the Southeast.
LIVE MUSIC @ VIRGINIA HIGHLAND SUMMERFEST
There is quite a line up this year, with three stages and at least 15 different bands/musicians. You’ll find the main stage on the lawn of John Howell Park (near the intersection of Virginia and Barnett). The first (of two) acoustic stages is the North Highland Stage near the intersection of Virginia and North Highland Avenues. The third stage will be near the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Park Drive.
KIDSFEST
On Saturday & Sunday from 10 AM – 3 PM, kids are invited to participate in unique games, crafts and activities. You’ll find Kidsfest in the western section of John Howell Park (where the volleyball courts are located).
