About Victorian Homes in Georgia

Example of a Victorian-era home in one of Atlanta's historic neighborhoods.Built between 1840 and 1915, Victorian homes have a grand presence on any Atlanta street. The earlier Victorians were simple in style, but in the late 1890s, the style became a bit more ornate, characterized by steep gables, “Gingerbread” wood detailing, pointed windows, and vibrant colors inside and out. Like the bungalows, these homes feature hardwood floors, fireplaces, very high ceilings (10 to 12 feet) and a large front porch is quite common.

Popular Victorian-era neighborhoods in Atlanta: Inman Park and Grant Park are home to some picture-perfect Victorian-era homes, but there are a select few in other Intown Atlanta Neighborhoods, including Ormewood Park, Buckhead, Kirkwood and Decatur.
