About Fernbank Elementary School
Located in the heart of Historic Druid Hills, a group of Emory University families founded Fernbank Elementary School almost 70 years ago. Fernbank has long been known for excellence in academics, sportsmanship and the arts. Fernbank Elementary’s focus is to “prepare students to assume the responsibilities for a global society” and also is a fully authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school. Due to the proximity to Emory University and Hospital, as well as the Centers for Disease Control, Fernbank has a diverse mix of students from over 20 different countries.
Students who attend Fernbank would go on to Druid Hills Middle School and Druid Hills High School.
The boundaries for the Fernbank Elementary School include a small section of Virginia Highland and a larger section of Historic Druid Hills in the Emory area. The lines aren’t 100% clear cut, but here is a street map with boundaries of the Fernbank school district.
