About North Springs High School
Founded in 1963, North Springs High School changed directions in 2007 and became the first public charter high school in Fulton County, Georgia. The new official name is now “North Springs Charter School of Arts and Sciences” but it is often referred to as North Springs Charter High School. This top performing magnet school has received numerous honors and awards over the years, including Georgia School of Excellence, a Grammy Signature School (1997), and a U.S. News & World Report Outstanding High School (2000). It was also one of Newsweek Magazine’s Top 300 High Schools (2000). Most importantly, a large majority of the North Springs graduating class go on to attend a 2 or 4-year college (97% in 2005).
Did you know…. NSHS also has some interesting alumni? Raven-Symoné of “That’s So Raven”, John Schneider (“Bo Duke”) from the Dukes of Hazard and even R&B Singer, Usher.
