Originally just a small picnic on the lawn at Heritage Green in Sandy Springs, the Sandy Springs Festival has grown to one of metro Atlanta’s largest festivals with over 20,000 attendees expected. The festival was voted “Best Festival” by the readers the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Access Atlanta and is the primary fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic and cultural identity of Sandy Springs.
More than just an arts and crafts festival, the event also includes live entertainment, a food court, a health and wellness area, a local business and civic expo, a children’s park and a homegrown market. Other highlights include the Doug Kessler Lightening 5K/10K race, which is a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race and a Collector’s Car Show. Unlike many festivals, dogs are welcome at the Sandy Springs Festival and there is even a pet parade with prizes in categories such as most unusual, best dressed owner and pet and most colorful. Costumes encouraged!
Come out and join the fun on Saturday, September 22nd. For details, visit the website at https://www.sandyspringsfestival.com/.
