Pine Lakefest 2012
Of all the community festivals happening this fall, Pine Lakefest is one of the most unique. Since the festival takes place on the lake from which Pine Lake takes its name, the festival incorporates many activities involving the water and beach including a parade of floats that are literally floating and a sand sculpture competition. The festival also offers displays by artists in just about every medium you can think of from paint and metal to textiles. There will even be displays of sidewalk chalk art.
While the focus of the festival is art since Pine Lake considers itself to be one of the most artistic communities in the metro Atlanta area, there will be plenty of other activities to keep you busy all day including an impressive line-up of food from local restaurants, a pet show, comedians, a drum circle, improv and of course, live music.
Pine Lakefest is in its 12th year and it truly one of the highlights of the fall festival season in Atlanta. Activities kick off on Saturday, October 6 at 10am at Pine Lake Beach & Park and admission is free.
