Laughing Skull Comedy Festival

Laughing Skill Comedy show at the VortexMarch 27 – 31, 2013

Tucked away in the back of the Vortex Bar & Grill on Peachtree Street, you will find Midtown Atlanta’s only comedy club, The Laughing Skull Lounge. Boasting as the world’s best and smallest comedy clubs, the Laughing Skull has accomplished some great things, including the annual Laughing Skull Comedy Festival. Designed to help promote undiscovered stand-up comedians, former participants have gone on the book shows like The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

But the festival isn’t just for amateurs. Previous headliners include Margaret Cho, Gary Gulman, Robert Kelly, Jim Florentine and Christopher Titus. If you can’t make it out for the five day festival running from March 27-31 , maybe you can catch one of the upcoming performances by professional comedians including Greg Proops and Emo Phillips. And if you think you’ve got what it takes to make a crowd laugh, you can sign up for one of the open mic nights that take place every Tuesday and Wednesday at http://www.laughingskulllounge.com.

If you’re looking to get discovered or just looking for a laugh, you can register for the festival or buy tickets at http://www.laughingdevil.com/skullfestival. A portion of the proceeds from the festival benefit the Lenny Bruce Memorial Foundation to support their efforts to build a drug recovery facility.
